Panther Heads Poking Out!!!

uh -hemmm... I don't see any photos.... :p

Well-that would be due to the fact that my 14 year old has stolen my rechargable batteries for my camera to put in either his wireless mouse or his XBox 360 controller!

First one is out and in the baby bin-several more heads! Pictures to follow...gotta go get batteries!

Juli I get the cutest babies, I can't wait for my little pygmys, think they will mind being the only babies at my place? See you and them soon.

Hi Juli,

From the first 20 that hatched, how are they doing? do you still have them all? Have you had any losses? Reason I'm asking I hatched 22 almost at the same time as you. I heard some losses are normal in between the first 8 weeks, I havent experienced any, however Im wondering if I should be prepared to have some eventually.

Well-It has been interesting. Out of the first 14 that hatched from the first clutch-only 3survived. And those 3 are thriving and coloring up. The 11 went down hill quickly and survived at the most for a week and a few days. 3 Neos from that clutch even prolapsed-and i consulted several MAJOR breeders that have never known this to happen. They did not move around much, and ended up keeping eyes closed. The first 3 are now approaching 6 weeks. The second clutch started hatching about 3 weeks after the first. That clutch was laid 60 days after the first, the eggs were bigger and there were more of them. There are now 6 babies hatched, eating, and running around the baby bin from the second clutch. They are bigger and more active. There are still 4 eggs from the first clutch, and 20 from the second clutch that are sweating and hatching every few days. I will keep everyone posted.

Thanks Juli,

I think this information is very valuable for other breeders to be making notes and learning. Thanks for sharing. I'll open a new post for mine so others can also follow up these.

Thanks for all the posts and pictures, I'm learning lots. I've got 2 clutches cooking about 2 months apart from my Nosey Bees the first laid June 4th. They are all nice plump and white. I'm maintaining the temp at 74. Will keep following your threads for advice on what to do when the hatching starts. Have a colony of red racer roaches going for when they hatch and will have small crickets. Do you think I should get Fruit flies?
Thanks again for the pics and information
