It is normal for them to be a little stressed. Put him in the cage and let him be for awhile. Try not to even look at him. That will be very difficult. You may want to add some fruit flys in as he has not eaten today.

Who was the sire of your little guy? The Kammers are great 3 of my Chams are from them.

congrats.
I hope you have a foolproof setup cage ready for him.
Yes, chameleons are usually stressed after being shipped.

Leave him alone for now except for misting and feeding.
As far as I know, all my chameleons from kammerflage start eating right away out of the mail.

From someone that has received 4 from them throughout owning chams...its perfectly normal for them to be stressed. In many situations they did ship halfway across the country in darkness.

I would put them in there cage and LEAVE THEM ALONE for a few days, weeks etc. Provide your little one food everyday and set the misting schedule up. Other then that he should be good to go after he checks out his enviroment and gets to know his area a bit better.

The debated part is if you should handle your cham at an early age....I handled my chams after 1 week. I have had all 4 of my chams tame down pretty nice for me. Just ask Socalison (Joe) that took in my Nosy be. He will fall asleep at night on your hand if you wanted. I hated to let him go but hes in a much better place now. I find that owners who interact with there animals have a little bit more success in dealing with them later on and they will tolerate you more. I would limit handling to 5min at most initially and then as your cham gets older in a few months take him out a little bit more...just remember that you are the animal hunting your cham in the eyes of your little one.

I may have opened up a can of worms there but hey it worked for me pretty well.

whoa don't try to get him down.
let him do the upside down thing for a while. It is normal. They do that because they feel insecure and stressed.
after a week or two, he'll stop doing it.
PS: can you take a pic of the whole enclosure and post it here?

Joe, just leave him alone. Let him climb on the cage. Don't touch him, you will just stress him out more. Most of all, don't stick your hands in his new home and move him around, at least for a while. He needs privacy. Just like Ryan said, don't even look at him. Believe me, he will be just fine. The Kammers do a great job. :)

ok thanks for the advice... unfortunanly kammers forgot my fruitflies but i have miny mealworms

I would call them right away. But honestly, I ordered the fruitflies with my panther from them and never used them. They were too small for him to be interested in them. You should probably get some 1/4" or 1/2" crickets, as mealworms really shouldn't be a staple.
But call them, I'm sure they will make it right.

just a tip for future arrivals (since its so easy to just have one ) it helps to open up the box in a very dark environment as my friend had suggested to me. Then they wont be so shocked going from complete darkness to full blow lighting. You could just imagine how disorienting it would be for them. Congrats on your little guy, I have seen the Kammers breeders in person at shows, they are monsters!
