Panther question

Hello! Recently got a new panther chameleon (his name is Ficus, included a photo of him :p ) (he's around 2", every young)

He's in an 18x18x36 and his basking spot is 85°F (ambient temperature of 80)

I have a humidifier next to his cage and its around 80%, I've heard people do 50-70% others do 50-90%... is 80% to much?

Also wondering.. can he get TO MUCH uva and uvb?

As long as your humidity fluctuates during misting, as the cage dries out, you should be fine. If you don't have an automatic misting system, I highly recommend one. Enjoy your little one and take tons of pictures, they grow up too fast!

Happy Chameleon Keeping!!! Where did you get him? He shouldn't get overexposed if he has cover, I don't think 80% is too much unless the fog is just staying in there stagnant. Have fun! :):D:)

As long as be can move in and out of the UVB at will he shouldn't get too much.
What supplements are you using and hiow often for each? What do you feed/gutload the insects with?

Btw...cute as can be!

Hi! Thanks for the info, at the moment I'm feeding the crickets fresh fruits and veggies with that green cricket food ( looks like green jello) do I need a different type of gutload then that?

Thanks again!! ♡

Thanks! I was thinking about an automatic misting system.. the Mist King, right? They sound so helpful! But I'm not quite sure how they work?♡

Thanks again!♡

I was going to get a chameleon shipped from backwater reptiles but they lived up to their reviews and there was a problem in the order, which lead to me cancelling. I saw that as a sign and decided to check my local reptile shop, and I knew they didn't have any there but i had a feeling somthing would come of the visit to his shop and the owner re - directed me to a home owned panther breeder. He had been doing this for years and has beautiful healthy chameleons! That's where we adopted Ficus :)
Thanks for the info!♡

I've never used that green stuff. I use only greens, veggies and a bit of fruit.

What supplements do you use and how often for each?

There is a small learning curve with the MistKing but you get a quality product and the programmable timer is pretty badass.

Josh's frogs youtube channel has a setup video for mist king systems if I remember correctly.

part 1

part 2

I can tell you they are so helpful. I've had mine for nearly a year (It was Mondo's Christmas present last year haha) and it has made life so much easier. Also, I haven't had any issues with it, it's a quality product ^^
