Parsonii babies

Yes, it seems they are the only genuine CB available in Europe from what i can find which is a great shame. I spent a long time searching for a genuine breeder.

I have heard of one breeder from Europe that has bred Calumma parsonii cristifer and a alleged couple breeders from Asia that have breed Yellow Lips. It is a shame more of this species and their phases have not been bred in captivity.

I just saw your thread bro. Great pickup. He/she looks fantastic. Hope you do well with them and good luck getting a group together. Im truly jealous man.:p:D

You would not believe the ammount of "breeders" over here, funny though, they dont let you see the parents. But they give you their word they are CB. The breeder of these is very genuine, although i didnt see the parents, i did see a photo album showing the eggs in the incubator, him helping the babies from the eggs, the parents copulating etc. They are CITES registered too. Seems all the others that promised me they had papers didnt register them with CITES.

A (I'm not going to post his name) vet from the Netherlands hatched out some Orange Eye Parsons earlier this year and he documented his success pretty well with posts and pictures. Definitely could use more of that, especially here in the USA. How authentic CITES paperwork is acquired this long after the ban I could not say exactly however I'm glad there are some.

There are a couple of keepers here in the USA that may have Parsonii with origins from before the ban. However I'm not acquainted with the old school Calumma breeders from Europe and Asia.

Congrats on your new babies. The one pictured is absolutely adorable! I got my first parsons back in April a 2 year old orange eye male named Padre. He has been a real pleasure to work with and such a magnificent animal. If all continues to go well with him I will look for him a girlfriend this spring.

Keep us posted on your babies and their progress.

Hello,

Heres a few of pics of 1 of my 2 CB Parsonii I collected from Terraristika show in Hamm yesterday. The other is a little bit shy so i think i will wait a while until he/she is settled. Enjoy! :D

LOL, they are adorable, kinda remind me of the muppets...lol, you are so lucky

Thanks Jannb. Padre is amazing. I voted on his pic last month, not because im biased and love Parsonii but because the pic was fantastic. I hope mine turn out the same. Im hoping for 2 males and 2 females next year. at least ive got 3-4 years to research breeding! lol. :D

They arent for sale, Ive just bought them!!! lol

Temperature are lower than pardalis, highs of mid 80s max, lows in mid 40s. Humidity is higher, around 70% im told and more misting required as they drink tons. I think a mistiking will be on order in the next few days!
Hello Mark,
those temperatures are a bit wrong, they might work for adults but when it comes to juveniles, temperature must not exceed 26°C/78°F for a longer time during the day, nighttime temperatures should be about 20°C/68°F and in the winter: day ~20°C; night: ~12°C/54°F.
Did Andreas give you different information?

Thanks Robin, Andreas gave me the same information. 26°C is the absolute max i have recorded in a 24 hour period. The average sits at 24-25°C with night time temps at 19°C.
