pasqual your chameleon is a male
lou e your chameleon is a female and from the look of the black colour, gravid (pregnant)
She will lay infertile eggs. Make sure you have an egglaying bin in her cage for her to lay in so that she does not die eggbound.

And both of you have very nice chameleons :)

Wow thanks. I am just uneducated to know the difference in male and female lol.....

I am excited that he is a male since we named him Pasqual lol.

She has spurs!! wtf? i just filled up a bucket (about 8" tall by 10" diameter) with moist sand...i guess we'll see what happens... this is weird...

That is quite weird Lou e...mind starting a new thread with some good pics for us to see the spurs? Does your cham ever show any different colours?

Usually you can see spurs on the babies quite early and then 99,9% of the time it's a male. Occasionally females can show spurs when younger but they can lose them later on when they grow.

I was gonna say, just for tarsal spurs on the back the hind legs, they'll look like little nubbies. That's a sure fire way to check, and you can check at any age.

I agree with Lancecham; you can see the little spur in the first pic.
