Hi all, everyone is well, just checking in so you don’t think I’ve forgot about you.
Pedro is well and just finishing another shed , he’s very cool and laid back and nearly never angry, I’m guessing he’s probably 11 months now, certainly his eating has slowed which suits my wallet 😁 I built a outdoor summer enclosure but there was no summer so days out where limited but in his absence it’s really bushed out and hopefully next year will be different.
Anyway keep up the great work lovely people I’m off, wood to split. Winter is coming 😁

Welcome back! The enclosure looks fantastic! I am noticing his eyes look really sunken in for a chameleon. What is your hydration method?

Jasmine, i researched it and was considered safe at the time of planting , mine is planted directly into soil on the bottom and is extremely happy there to the point of having to cut it back hard regularly as it’s always moving towards the plant light and I want to keep the very top clear as to not impede the uvb, I must add Pedro is not a muncher but still everything that goes in gets vigorous research, some thrive some die, wandering Jew is great in there too and pieces that have come off have taken root in other places, for me the way the enclosure looks is important as I spend a lot of time staring at it😆

Mister set on timer, twice through the day the rest after lights out to bring humidity up, a dripper sits on top with very slow drip that falls onto big leaf ,
I do worry as only ever seen him drink once since having him, so I give him a juicy super worm as a treat to ease my mind. The opportunity is there for him and maybe it looks worse because he’s shedding and I know that takes it out of him. He certainly stops eating during sheds

Oh poor bug. I always feel bad for them when they are shedding. It seems miserable. It’s not uncommon to rarely see your chameleon drink. They are shy drinkers. What color are his urates?

Ok. I think it would be good to figure out why his eyes are so sunken in.
Thank you I will keep a eye on him, no pun intended 😁, a constant worry these bug eyed beauties are, he never refuses the chance to eat a meal worm so yesterday I added a few drops of water into my hand and placed the worms into it, out came his strechy gobbler and ate them up along with a good splash of water, hopefully he will present me with his no2 and I can take a look, normally he’s not shy , enjoy the last of the weekend.

Sounds great! Feel free to share pics on here too. You can also put a dripper or ice cubes on the top of this enclosure so they drip down on leaves to give some extra drinking options.
