Pet Therapy Day

[Hoj]

so today i went and did a pet therapy session at a local retirermnet center and it went very well. i was there for almost 2 hours and brought my veiled Camo and my panther Gizmo.
there were about 15 seniors that came down from their rooms and seemed to have a good time.
2 individuals were very interested and even held lil Camo for a few min.
i brought my laptop and hooked up to their tv we watched a 10min video about chams and then had a great visit and chat. they seemed very excited and want to do it again.
at the end of the visit there was one couple who were not mobile enough to come down but had acctually owened chams years ago, so made the trek upto their room and they were full of smiles. ( apparently a very rare occurance )
it was so nice to share the happiness these guys bring me and i will def, be going again.

WELL DONE my friend!... Excellent.... My mom has spent a career in nursing homes as a physical therapist. She would have me come by once a month to play cards or just watch Red Sox games with some of the folks. Every little bit makes a difference... Very happy for you. I hope you continue the excellent work.... Bravo.

thanks everyone it was a very fun time. and yes for most it was thier first time seeing a chameleon and the found them quite fasanting.
and yes Laurie thechams stole the day, as they should......lol

we are planning a second visit this summer.

I hate that alot of our elders are kinda tossed aside and thrown into homes ( not all, just a generalization)
But to see you do something like this, with altruistic (sp?) intentions really restores my faith in people
There really are a few good men out there
and you are one of them for taking the time to make someone else smile
