so i went to my local petstore today, they had a beautiful veiled chameleon. i felt really bad though, as they had him in a glass tank much too small for him. not sure how old he was as they didnt say and not an expert on chameleons, but i would guesss 4-8 months. seems like they were doing mostly everything right except for glass cage and size. problem is they wanted $150 for him. This might be a fair price but cant i get a healthy well taken care of veiled cham online for alot cheaper?

Yeah, check out or sponsors. Even after shipping you'd probably save ~$50, which will get you a lot of silkworms. The downside is you probably won't get to see exactly which chameleon you'd like (although usually you see the parents, which you won't get from a pet store), but generally you should expect a quality breeder to produce healthy good-looking animals

or you can wait till your local area has a reptile expo.
Then you can get your chameleon there for cheaper price.
U can talk direct to the breeder and choose directly the chameleon you want.

In the meantime, research research research. When you ready, buy ALL the equipments necessary. and buy the chameleon when everything already set up.
Better yet, post the pic of your enclosure and ask away for crit with an open mind.
