Hi everyone,
I've been scouring the internet for information specifically on the Philodendron Cordatum to discover whether or not it is toxic to chameleons. I know that it's a common on this website to follow the saying "when in doubt, leave it out!", but I just don't want to settle for doubt. First of all, does anyone plain and simple know the answer to whether or not this plant is safe for my cham?
I know that philodendron specifically is toxic. However, all over this site I see people saying "yes, this plant is safe for your cham" and "no, this plant is not safe for your cham." Some people have used it, some people refuse it. I've read each thread with the word "philodendron" in it and no one mentions Cordatum.
On wiki I read about how cordatum doesn't have an impact on cats, but it does on rats. Other strands of Philodendron have killed cats. Thought maybe that was interesting and may contribute to finding the answer. This plant is also called "Philodendron Totem," or at least read so when I bought it from Home Depot.
Thanks for checking out this thread, any input at all is appreciated. I just don't want my baby getting sick, he's new and is very stressed out (the pet store he was at had some ignorant employees handling him daily) Let me know if I need to swap for a different plant!
