phoenix worms

I have been very interested in breeding BSF or phoenix worms but what really confused me is there's a collector bin connected to where the BSF Larvae climbs up and falls down. When the larvae turn to flies how do they breed since they are already inside the collector's bin? How can they get out or lay eggs in the bin where there it is full of larvae?

They cannot.

You have to either let a few go or rely on your local wild population to keep renewing your bin.

The flies breed while flying in bright sunlight. I think very few people are able to replicate the necessary conditions in a contained system (I think I remember reading that it has been done though).

I just toss a few on the ground where I think they will survive when I empty the harvest bin, and then use the rest for the lizards. Obviously they are therefore a seasonal food source for my lizards. The last couple summers I did not do them, but the lizards enjoyed them while I had them.

How can I get them to turn into flies? I have about 200 phoenix worms in a tupperware container, some of them are turning black but its been a few weeks with no flies
