Are Phoenix Worms better for the chameleon to eat or is silkworms, butterworms, hornworms, superworms or crickets more than then them. Just a question. I have feed my chameleon every thing except roaches and Phoenix worms. I just like variety of feeding insects for him. Thanks

My adults wouldnt touch them because of their small size. But I agree that variety is great - if yours will take them, do add them to the mix.

And if i do buy this Phoenix Worms do i need to gutlaod them to or do they have there own kind of food to eat. Thanks again.

Feed as is...

No gutloading necessary. Feed right out of the container. Great for small chameleon species and baby larger species. High in calcium.

High protein treat.. i slip them into my veiled's mouth and they are chewy, so he likes them. Might be small, but they are mighty.
Crickets and roaches are your staple feeders. The worms are good, but a cham should not live on worms alone.
If I were to pick two worms it would be the phoenix worm for the protein and the silk worm for it's hydrating properties. The super worm is great for it's wiggle factor. :D

I think FaunaBgirl was the best advice for me ever thanks so much. I haven't tried phoenix worms and i'll give it a try cuz my guy needs protein. thanks so much again.

I wanted to know what kind of phoenix worms for my cham ? Small or medium ? And what is a good place to get them from ? Online ?

Are there any good articles how to breed them ? They are very expensive over here and I want to breed them instead of buy them everytime in online shops

Went to the pet shop today to get crickets. I order Phoenix Worms so i'm excited about that. They don't come in until tuesday, So hopefully he will like these too. He never had Phoenix Worms or roaches. Next time (maybe) i'll try the roaches but i don't know about those.

I just recently started feeding Phoenix worms to my 6 month old female veiled and she gobbles them up! I'm sure your little guy will like them too!

Just be careful, Phoenix worms are specifically bread in a "sterile" environment when used as herp food. This is especially important for chams as they are more sensitive then other herps.

www.thebiopod.com

We have a small unit on order for "grub" or un trademarked phoenix worm production here at home. But we have three bearded dragons, one panther cham and soon to be four leopard geckos to feed.

I am not sure how you ordered your phoenix worms or you needs but we order the two 500+ containers direct from phoenix worm .com it is about $49 but we can go through that before they get too old.

I order my Phoenix worms through the pet shop that i always go for feeder food for my cham and for his other supplies when he runs out. I don't order by bulks cause i don't want his food to go bad. I only have one reptile. Taking care more will be alot more work for me. But i've been thinking about getting a veil i heard they get big. But then again just to much to take care of. If i did ge a veil would i be able to put it in the same cage with my graceful cham he a male if i did get a girl?

Veiled and graceful chameleon cannot coexist in the same cage.
Especially veiled, the adult male cannot even share the same cage with each other.

If you do, one will give (either get eaten, wounded, or stressed from dominance of the other cham).

Generally, 1 old world chameleon/ cage. No sharing.
