Pictures of my Carnivorous Plants (Warning: Over 20 Photos!)

They look awesome. I actually wrote a paper on carnivorous plants when I was in college. They are amazing.

Those are awesome!

Is there a local nursery that specializes in them or do you order them online?

I know the local home depot usually carries a few limited types but I'm too chicken to buy them as I figured I'd kill them and it is though to get good information.

What part of California are you in that you can keep an outside collection? I would assume the weather in Sacramento where I am would just kill any of them.

These were taken at night.... Most of my sarracenias and VFTs are still emerging from dormancy. Here are some that are not.

VERY nice collection.
How do they get light?
Do you have both indoor and outdoor setups?
I like the VFT without the cilia... Is this a mutation you created?

That VFT is a cultivar called "Korean Melody Shark" I was developed in Korea. I do have two indoor setups, one is a cooler tropical (that's where I keep the highland nepenthes, heliamphoras and tuberous droseras) and a warmer, less humid environment where I keep everything else that lives inside. The VFTs and Sarracenias all live outside year round, as far as light- my elect trick bill ain't cheap!
