Pink mass hatch

Had a group of 26 Ankaramy panthers hatch out over the weekend. This is my first pink clutch to all hatch out on same day. All my others have previously taken a week or two for the babies to all emerge.

No, nothing different. Just let mother nature do her thing, with all of her intricacies.

Yes. This is my normal spacing. As the eggs grow, they do get a little closer to one another.

Congrats on the Pink babies!!!! Do you think having the eggs closer together they would know the other ones are hatching and all come out at the same time? It the wild they would still all be in the pile, like what we dig out of the laying bin and in the wild don't they all hatch at the same time so they can all dig out together?

I do think there is some kind of communication taking place for the eggs to all time their exit from the egg. I have a pile of Sambava eggs that I have left in a cluster, to see how they hatch. Should be around Christmas time, when they start to hatch.

Well, I don't know about that, but were smart enough to wait til we finally got some cooler daytime temps. here in southern Cal..

If I am not mistaken some sea turtles hatch en-masse to help insure a decent survival rate.
May be an instinctual response to sumthin or other.
