pinkies

I used to feed my large female F. pardalis the occaisional pinky. Curiously some chams seem to like them and others are not interested at all. This has been my experience with veileds and panthers.

My Arnold, a veiled, loves them! I was told to not give him them too often since they are not their regular diet, so I only give him one every couple of weeks or so. Actually, when I buy my corn snake a mouse. The first couple of times I didn't give him any crickets the same day so I could watch his poop to make sure nothing bad happened, but other then a good sized poop, the pinkie came right through.

Arnold is a meat man. I absolutely can not get him to eat fruit or veggies. He locks his mouth up tight and scouls at me. Oh well, I gut load the crickets.

are you feeding live pinckies or frozen ones?

Thanks

Sean

PS not on the menu at my reptile room anytime soon

chameleons will eat stationary, will also drinking from standing water, its just super rare

(Dont flame me its true i have see both personally)

I used to feed my 2yr male pinkies every couple weeks, he went nuts over them. be sure to keep the pink for a couple days to hydrate and feed some fresh foods.

That is from last night. It was a full size mouse.

Mice drink milk. Milk and reptiles do not mix. It's not the "shot in the arm" of calcium that you might think. Older mice like the one in the picture, doesn't drink milk anymore, so....
wicked picture.
I'll be trying button quail next week sometime, when they hatch.
Hey... did you dust that mouse? lol

I've tried pinkies before with my WC Adults and only 1 would eat them. I haven't bothered to try again. I would feed them sparingly if you do decide to give them a try.

Wow, Im surprised at this thread!! I cant imagine that they would be able to eat a pinky mouse... I have a 6 month old panther cham... do you think he would be able to eat one.. Im curious to try it out:).... Not to steal this thread.. just wondering.
