i also have a light green small tree with darker green insides(idk what it is. the woman i bought it from didnt know either) and i also have large ferns and some of the reuglar trees we have on the safe plant list along with fake vines and pothos. im not saying you should do what i do becuz id hate for your cham to die eating something posion but i do pick plants i know arnt on the safe list and have no ill effects(in madagascar in sure there are posion plants)
I would assume that they would all be ok to use, but I don't know for sure. Are you saying that there were three different species of bromeliads, or three different color bromeliads or both? I'm not too familiar with bromeliads, but I have seen others use them; Olimpia actually has a new thread where she has several...
Bad, bad, bad...JKpeople wont like this but: i use whatever i want. some live some die and im learning. i have a female who loves eating plants but have yet to see her touch one that isnt on the safe plant list. mabey they know more than we think/mabey they taste toxin posion ect and wont eat anymore. atm i have a misquito plant that smells like lemon and blooms purple flowers

I don't think others should make a huge deal about what you just said because chameleons will spit out things that have an odd taste to them, i.e. toxic plants most likely have an odd taste.
Well I've come to realize that Olimpia knows her stuff. I don't see her knowingly putting a toxic plant into a cage with her chams, so I would rule out bromeliads in general as being safe. I think that any that are available are probably safe; bromeliads are a very varied plant species: pineapples and spanish moss are both bromeliads, and you also have the more common ones that have long green leaves with a red, orange, yellow, etc flower in the middle. I may use the latter in my cages, if I have room for any
Yeah you're probably right, but you can't blame people for being paranoid about which plants are safe and which aren't lol. It just makes more sense most of the time for the plants to be approved by someone so they know for sure before they just try it out themselves.
