So this isn't really for chameleon use, but I thought I'd share all my plants I've grown from cuttings, I have three mature umbrella trees, and these are two that have rooted already, northfolk pine cuttings, pothos, some fern moss, pink fittonia, and wondering jew, I put them in a shoe holder that goes on the wall, they fit my little plants perfectly. I put ziplock bags over the top to help with humidity, take it off and use a fan for five minutes to mimic wind every other day, it seems to help. these plants will be used in terrariums I'm building, but the pothos and umbrella plants are growing like crazy and will probably be used In a enclosure when I need it.

I’m stealing this idea for propagating! 😂 thanks so much! My daughter moved out last year leaving me one of those back door shoe racks she had full of reusable Starbucks cups and I was goo to throw it out. Looks like I can utilize this baby, thanks so much for the idea.
Can’t wait to see the terrariums when you get working on them. 😊

Awesomeness! I love the idea of using the shoe holder for clippings! A few years back an overly ambitious me bought a couple of the hanging pocket planters that are just like the hanging shoe holders, but made of heavy duty felt fabric. Yeah…I gave them to a friend. I just have to know though…how did you start the umbrella plants from clippings? Is it done the same as is for other plants, or do you have to find the secret hidden nodes or something?

It's pretty much the same as the other plants, when it’s mature I cut about 3” off the main stem part, leave it in water for three days, then put it in a mixture of soil, worm castings, and crushed egg shells. I water it every four days and keep the bag on until it has reached around 6” in size.

The shoe holders are a life saver, I put damp paper towels in the bottom that I switch every other day, humidity really keeps all of these plants thriving. I will also use a mix of crushed egg shells, some old vegetables, and a little bit of coffee grounds for a fertilizer, it has worked really well and the coffee grounds help with pests

Im working on a springtail culture as well, so far they’re multiplying pretty fast. I hope to have some terrariums ready this week!

Garlic cloves in the soil work for pests too. My sister has a shoe hanger and has accumulated a nice variety of succulents.
