Hi guys so I decided to build Beman an area that could be used next to my desk and used outside this summer with my supervision. At this time it would be only for short periods of time as I have not added UVB lighting. It is 2 ft wide, 14 inches deep, and 3 ft tall. This is what I have done so far. Heat lamp above that is removable for outside time. Two planters that I am going to put Pothos in. Could not find any that I liked today though. I will be adding lots of horizontal vines tonight and tomorrow. Input would be wonderful on anything that I may have not thought of or if something sucks on what I have done so far LOL :) Thank you!

interesting idea. How do you plan to keep him away from the light?
When you take him outside he will need constant supervision. I know someone who lost their cham just by taking a phone call.
So there is a 16 in drop between the top branch and the lamp. If he tries to go closer I also bought screen that I can staple to the top to create a barrier. I work from home so I get to schedule my own time in between work.

All I have is a tiny 6x6 outdoor deck so I would be sitting there with him. I am pretty paranoid about his safety. I was trying to think of something that was multipurpose and could be taken outside and would be safe for him to hang out on in the sun with me soaking up the sun with him lol. Since my deck is so small I don't have enough room to do a larger screen enclosure for him. Plus it rains quite a bit where I am on the coast of northern California so I was worried if I did have something permanently outside it would get ruined.

It's not a bad idea you will just have to be vigilant.
So just really watching to ensure he stays safe or are there other areas of concern with this? Please anything you have I am sooooo open to everyone's experience and knowledge :)

They sit very still when they know when they are being watched and then book it the minute your eyes are off of them. They are masters of deception.
Lol ok thank you! I will watch him like a hawk. He will only be out about an hour each day since I don’t have a uvb fixture for it yet.

Thanks guys... trying to think outside the box while applying free range type concepts to it. Still working on the plants.... but for the first thing I have ever built on my own I am pretty happy with the build quality :)

How old is that pothos?? Just curious I'm so eager to watch mine grow!
I do not know. I bought it for 27 bucks at a nursery near me. It was actually double the size prior to me dividing the root ball to make two plants. With both plants they have 9 long vines between 2-4 feet long. I am guessing it’s gotta be like a good 12 months growth though because the other two I got were really small when I got them 3 months ago and now finally have about 15-18 inch vines.

I've got all these young plants that are only just starting to adjust.. little 8" vines!! I feel so impatient and want my little plants to grow!!
Well you could go ahead and run your lighting on them if they are planted in the enclosure. It will help them grow faster. I do have a plant bulb in my quad lighting system it seems to really help.

I've actually got the whole thing going at the moment.. misting on a cycle along with the lights on a little longer then 12hrs a day lol. I'm running one plant light 6500k t5 and one 75w grow bulb in my fixture.. think these will be sufficent?

Yep I forgot that you had the additional plant lights. Yes, having everything up and running will help them get established and well rooted before you get your new baby. :) did you decide what kind of Cham your getting yet?
