Chams acting strange, lying on side

I came home this arvo, after getting me chams some food from the shop. When I came home, I came back to my (two) 3 month M & F, who were on the bottom of the cage, lying on their sides like dogs. I immediately opened the cage in concern and the M climbed up a branch. The F laid motionless. It looked as if they were sleeping or resting. The sunlight was towards the floor where they were lying. I took them and put them outside, free to climb a nice hibiscus. The M looks healthy and rests high, but the F stays low on the tree and hung upside down and then is now sideways. She looks weak and was dark color but when I touch her shes light. I figured the sunlight will boast their energy.

Their diet consists of butterworms and crickets. I recently added the powder to the crickets without the D3 (1 week). And I sprayed them with ZooMed Mite Off 3 days ago. (1 x):(

I am very concerned for their health. Is this behavior lying on the side normal? Anyone with any comments is much obliged.

Thanks:confused:

Greetings, and sorry to hear about your cham situation.

Housing them together can cause stress. Your best first option for restoring your female would likely be a trip to the vets. The next move you should make, immediately if possible, would be to separate them into their own complete cage set ups. Speaking of set ups, in order for the folks here to really help you we will need the answers to the following questions. it is a questionnaire most all of us have filled out when requesting help here on the forum. Also, in your situation, photos are really a must. There is a lot that can be seen in a photo, concerning chameleon health.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage construction (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and type of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Location - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
Current Problem - The current problem that you are concerned about.

Also, I see that you asked for help before with health problems (https://www.chameleonforums.com/bubbling-eyelid-snarled-lip-16824/). Did you take your cham to a vet that last time?

My 3 month olds will lie around on the tub floor under the light "alligator" style soaking up the heat. You mentioned the sun was hitting the cage floor, so I wonder if that was what they were doing. Mine are never really truly on their sides, just more on their bellies and leaning over. Anytime a sudden things happens like you describe-my first thought is chemical fumes of some kind? Was there anything like that in the house?
