Hi,

I Recently got a 9month old Nosy Mitsio. The Thing that is bugging me is that his turrets are black along with his head lining and never seems to be that famous vivid red (even younger ones seem more developed). another thing is that he has virtually no visible barring on his flanks... He is lime green and has a little blue at points on his white stripe one on the beginning, middle and end of his stripe and when he sleeps he is mainly yellow with red and orange... Also his hands are a dull grey colour. He does not seem 9 months but his size looks it. I got him from a pretty reputable reptile centre.

Q) Will he develop the red? and when does colour maturity end?

I LOVE HIM SOOO MUCH.

May be he matures a little slower.

Tell us about his diet, what insects do you offer, what do you gutload with?

well i only ogt him today but i have been researching heavily... hes on black crickets/mealworms and ill be giving him butternut squash and sweetpotatoe what would you suggest for gutloading? and how often

sounds to me like you should send him to me i'll take care of him and keep him as my own. no need to thank its just those little things i tend to do to make others life better. he will be happy with me trust me on this!!!

if youve only got him today theres a good chance u wont see his true colors till he settles down which may take a day or 2 or a few weeks

Can you post some pics and give us some backround information on the animal, and we most likely will give you our input on it.

Thanks for all your help ill put some pics up tomorrow guys... and allen NEVER I <3 HIM i been waiting to get him for years

Collard greens, Mustard greens, Turnip greens, Papaya, Winter squash, Oranges, Sweet peppers, Carrots are all things you can add into a rotation.

You want to try and give a balanced diet by adding different varities of fruits, veggies and greens.

If you just got him be a little stressed. Where did you get him if you don't mind me asking?

That is possibly one of the best chameleons i have ever seen in my life....he does look a bit older than 9 months old but he is absolutely stunning! Where did you get him from? Mitsios are very uncommon here in the U.S. They only way they are found here is from an import from Madagascar or from an import from Canada.

P.S- Dont be worried about him having no barring or having not vivid red eye turrets. That is normal, red sometimes turns dark. He seems super healthy too me... And his feet look fine to me...the grey coloration you see might just be him about to shed or maybe that is just the color

OHhh.... really he just does not have the red turrets so i was worried that he was not a mitsio and he doesnt really have any barring... i got him in the uk we can get em pretty easily over here im planning on using him as a stud :)
