I have a large bin I keep my crickets in and EVERY TIME fruit flies get in and lay eggs in the crickets infecting them, causing all of them to die... I'm really scared to feed these to my chameleon. Any way I can keep them out???

Are you breeding the crickets? If you have a wet container of soil in there they could be Fungas gnats.

Could also be phorid flies. Likely there because crickets stink! Try to clean the container often and don't leave too much food in there. It may help.

There's no moist container and I Just cleaned it yesterday and got new crickets. Could I try dubai roaches instead? Are they more filling for the chamleon?

They definitely smell less from what I hear. I can't use them here in Florida. I would advise having a few different types of feeders that are gutloaded well. I only have one chameleon so it makes it tricky to keep feeders clean and alive long enough for him to eat all of them. I use crickets, superworms, silk worms and hornworms as the staple feeders for my chameleon.

Buy less crickets don't have to much cricket food and drink in the box with them. Make sure there's room in the box fro them to crawl around I use old egg cartons cut them in half and put them in with the crickets
