Please Help!

How are things today?

Things are much better today. I was just being paranoid about the other eye, it's completely fine. I bought the Reptisun 5.0 UVB bulb, gave his cage a really good cleaning with reptile safe cleaner, and bought all new bedding and climbing things. I also bought the saline solution and it's definitely working. I'm pretty sure it's just a bit shedding stuck in his eye, but after I put the solution in his eye he started opening it more and I think he can see better out of it. There still is some of the white film in his eye, but I'm going to give him a rest for a while so he doesn't get too stressed.

To answer the previous question about his mouth it's completely normal.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Okay. I will definitely take that all into consideration. Is there a better way of estimating how many months old he/she is? Like perhaps the size or something. Is there any other way to indicate the sex other than the tarsal spurs?

Size isn't always the best way to estimate, there have been many stories here of apparent runts who had sudden growth spurts later than expected. Also, as it seems this one has been underfed a bit, it's likely to be smaller than "normal" for its age.

You've had the animal for at least 3 months, possibly 4. In general, it's advised to have a laying bin in the enclosure from 6 months on (some say before).

Maybe you could take some pictures that include a) the whole animal and b) something of a known size (ruler, magazine, whatever) and experts here could offer some opinions.

As to the gender thing, a vet could accurately sex your chameleon by checking for the presence of a hemi-penis. I don't know if there's a "home method" for that.

There are probably ways to tell by borrowing a known female but I'm not exactly sure what result you'd expect. Hopefully if someone else knows and can explain, that will happen.

Dude! I did. I told you the store I buy feeders from dusts them with calcium when I buy them. If you could honestly calm down that would be awesome. I appreciate your help but you are being RUDE. I've answered all of your questions.

Calcium dust should be on hand and feeders should be dusted before feedings. I never heard of a pet store dusting before buying them. Do they charge you extra for that??? By the time you get home and give your cham the feeders the dust may have fallen off. You also need to be dusting a vitamin supplement

No it's not extra. It's a privately owned store and they bag the crickets and worms themselves when you buy them, and they ask if you want dust or no dust. If you do, they sprinkle the feeders after they put them in the bag.

If your going to continue to sup this way I would check to see what they are actually putting on the feeders. You are looking for calcium that is phosphorus Free. If it has D3 in it thats fine. You will also need to sup with a vitamin dust 2-3 times a month.
