My veiled chameleon keeps rubbing her eyes on her branches...is this normal or is something wrong?

That is somewhat normal if it is occasional. How old/big is your Veiled? If your chameleons seem to be eye rubbing to much I would recommend a shower. This to stimulate a rain shower and allow the chameleon the opportunity to rinse and clean his or her eyes.

As Motherlode stated, and assuming that all of your husbandry requirements are met, it is a normal occurrence and usually prior to shedding but I recommend that you consult with a vet if the eye appears to be irritated or swollen. Based on my personal experience, eye issues can develop from use of common household bulbs when utilized for basking purposes. If this is the case, swap it out for a ZooMed or ExoTerra tight beam basking bulb.

I hope everything works out.

my veiled acctually does this alot, sometime i will give him a drop or two of saline, to help lubricate his eyes. it seems to help as well as showers and good mistings

Do I get saline from my vet or do I get it from a pet store? And thanks!

I'm not sure what type of light I'm using.

This is very important. look at the bulb anything printed on the end of it?
Is it a tube light? Do you have a UVB light? UVB is essential for their well being.

If it is stronger than a 5.0 it could be too strong and irritating their eyes.
