Here's hoping Cooper gets on the road to recovery without any hiccups and the same goes for you, miss. This comes from me and all the animals at my house so it's gotta count towards something in the grand scheme of things. I will keep you guys in my thoughts.
Thank you everyone for all the thoughts, prayers and well wishes. I am out of surgery and on the way home. They got all the cancer but I will have a black and swollen eye for awhile. I have a line of stitches across my eye brow.
My husband has been in touch with the vets and Cooper has has X-rays, bloodwork, ultra sound, MRI and scoped and so far not been able to figure out what's causing his problems. They are waiting on the bloodwork results. If there's any additional info after I personally talk to the vet I'll post an update.
Ralph for the past 30 days Cooper has only ate what my husband and I mashed up and fed him via a big syringe. We don't feed any outside skeletons on the bugs or worms just the goodies inside. He willing took the food from the syring but wouldn't eat on his own.
Thank you so much everyone for all of your love and support. I spoke with the vet and Cooper is receiving some fluid via IV and earlier they scoped him and looked around almost down to his stomach and didn't see a thing so they don't believe it anything like what Padre had. He is on an antibiotic, I can't remember the name but it's more for his stomach incase he has an infection or something going on in his tummy or digestive track. I am praying they will find out what he has and be able to fix it.
Glad surgery went well. How long is your expected recovery? I know Mike will take great care of you. I am really hoping Cooper comes home and is eating on his own. Still thinking of you and hoping for great news!
I don't imagine the vet can check for this but... did his sprain his tongue? I had one once that tried to grab a food item, missed and it got stuck on a branch to where the chameleon had to "run" to it's own tongue to get it back in. The animal would not shoot food for weeks and I had to hand feed it. It also sat with it's head up, like it had to use gravity to hold it in or maybe it felt good. It drank on it's own but it needed help eating. Even after it started shooting again it only shot out short distances. Could he have stretched his tongue?
Jann, very glad to hear your surgery was successful. Sending positive thoughts and prayers to you and Cooper. I hope that you get some additional information about his condition soon. It's always so hard on the heart when we don't know what to do to remedy a situation.
Thank you so much for all of your comments and ideas. We are going to get Cooper and bring him home tomorrow. None of the test showed up anything new. Cooper has gained a couple of grams due to the feedings and IV fluids. He will be happier at home and the vet is not set up for long time Parsonii care. He will remain on the antibiotic and a steroid. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayer.
Ditto above. Sounds like good news for you. That's the important thing! Next, we have to get Cooper well! Tell him the Croupies are sending good thoughts and positive vibes toward Florida.
