Please respond, I'm worried

He's doing about the same, but a little more relaxed. Hopefully he hangs in there until tomorrow, my vet will be back in town by then. It's very heart breaking to sit here & not be able to do anything. I've had my share of crying today, along with my 8 yr. old daughter.

Hope everything turns out okay and the vet has some ideas for you.
Are you able to look down his throat? I wonder if its possible he has a cricket or something stuck part-way?

Has he pooped lately (brown fecal matter, not just urates)? This is exactly how my first cham acted when she got an impaction ...

As much hissing as he's done today, I've had a pretty good view, and I don't think there's anything stuck in his throat.

This is agood point.

Put on some garden gloves to avoid being bitten, run a warm shower and hold his body (not his head) under the water and massage his organs around his vent and infront of his back legs.

That's a good question. I'm really not sure. I'll check his cage to see if I can find any fresh. I hate to admit it, but his cage is due for a cleaning.....

We have showered him. He basically doesn't have any fight left in him. he just laid there in my boyfriends hands. No hissing or gaping. I just put him back in his cage. He is going to the bathroom as I'm writing this. Hopefully that's a good thing.

What you are describing sounds very much like my first cham before she died. She had a bad impaction (unfortunately I was not as versed in cham care as I should have been) and despite spending many days at the vets she did not make it ... BUT I did not catch it as early as I might have if I had known better.

I think of it as a pain/stress response. All animals (from my experiences) respond different. When Corey (first cham) was going through this she would gape a lot. I'm glad that she's pooping. I'd keep the showers up. My vet was even giving her warm supervised baths while gently massaging her abdomen.

I would like to say thank you for everyones help & concern for Henry.
Henry passed away early this morning. He will be missed.
