Yes I agree. I've seen it happen with turtles mainly out here. For Chinese New Year they were selling off red-eared sliders for like $10/two. I felt SOO bad for those guys, b/c I know most will end up dead. People don't realize how much work turtles take (like all animals), and they don't realize how big that species can grow. I have two of my own turtles and they get spoiled rotten, we keep talking about building them a pond. lol We also have 2 chameleons, 2 cats and fish (so far) and they all get pretty spoiled.
I don't see chameleons in the shelters or anywhere to be rescued or I'd be all for it. If anyone needs a foster-mom I get my chameleon room end of the month
