Plexiglass

I'm planning on building an enclosure where I want to do the bottom half mesh, the top half glass. Would plexiglass stand up to my chameleon's claws (and not scratch) or do I need to use natural glass?

If I were thinking about building something like that, I'd start with an aquarium with one end broken $10 at a yard sale (I have a couple of those I'm sure) and hope It fit on top of a medium or large reptibreeze cage, but I'd plan on having to build a wooden frame lower half (to hold the weight of the aquarium).

Dang how much more. Im a manager at a local hardware store where i live and glass is cheaper then plexiglass at my store. A lot cheaper.
Oh wow...yeah I just double checked and you're right. I'm not sure why I thought plexiglass was cheaper. Glass is like 1/10 the price of plexiglass on Home Depot's website.
