i am just an ametuer and lost a jackson yesterday but you should include the info from health topics thread about your cage and Cham and the experts here will be better able to help you
(you may also want to place a thread in health section)
good luck

Is the 75-80 degrees ambient temp? If so COOL IT DOWN a mite ... Jacksons like cooler temperatures and quite high humidity. Please give more details, and help will come sooner! ;)

Normally it means its to hot. If it doesn't have any problems with breathing try lowering the temperature. Give it a basking spot in the morning then again before lights out shut it off in between.

for the most part its ambient except for the basking light but its off at the moment... what temp would be ideal for a jacksons... thanx for the advice

Our Jackson is thriving in daytime temperatures between 70 and 75 degrees, with available cooler temperatures lower in the cage if possible. Ideal basking maximum probably shouldn't be higher than 82 (watch out for burns, depending on the bulb)

Is your cage mesh or screen? (glass enclosures are dangerous and can be the cause of many serious problems, such as overheating)

You may know this already, but until you post a DETAILED description, we won't know what you are doing (or not)

Does your chameleon stop gaping if you mist it?

i had a veiled that kept his mouth open and after a while of
going threw my husbandry i took him to the vet and he
had a case of mouth rot. so you might want to take him to the
vet if cooling down the temps dont help.

hopfully it will be due to temp.

shes at it again... when i mist she stops but it seems that she does it because she sees me n is trying to avoid it and if i mist the plants around her she wont drink... the temp is at 72... i mist 3 time or more a day.. i have a dripper im not sure what else it could be .... any ideas please let me know

you need way more plants in there. they will help with keeping
the humidity up and keeping the cool air in.
it shoud be pretty dense but enought to move nicely
