Ponazuril side effects?

Hey all thank you very much for all the info so far. I have a question about chameleons on ponazuril. Ive notivced my male veiled and male panther are having tounge issues. sniper my panther keeps missing and sulley my veiled male cant shoot more than an inch and still cant catch im pretty much just handing the food to them for now. Is this a side effect of the medicine? I have never seen them have issues like this before the Ponazuril. They are both on the second dose of it as of yesterday. steve is having no issues that i can see but he is on a lower dose becuase of his weight. Sniper and Sulley are both arouns 75-80 grams so my vet said 6cc of ponazuril for them and then only 3cc for steve becuase he is only 52 grams. oh and our 2 year old female veiled is having no issues as of this time. she is 95 grams and gets a 6cc dose.

I have used it before several times with no side effects at all.

I just recently finished a treatment with it on my female panther. The only side affect I saw was a loss of appetite on the third day of medication for both the first and second dose.

Its just seems weird that i noticed that both my males of the same age start having tongue issues the same night. I will see how they feed today and tomorrow. It might just have been a off day for them ;P thanks for the input!

Are you sure those are the dosages?? Or do you mean .06cc and .03cc?? If your giving them 6cc and 3cc that's WAY WAY to much!!

I used ponazuril with Glacier for almost 2 months, and never had any side effects.

Are you sure it wasnt just a fluke?

Like you are looking for issues because an issue already exists?

They do miss a bug here or there on occasion, it happens. They arent perfect.

!!! SULLEY AND SNIPER ARE PERFECT!!!!! I mean he isnt called sniper for nothing I Just havent seen sulley ever strike and miss 7 times and he was only shooting his tongue about two inches at most. But he was taking the crix from my hand like he was starving. it could have been a fluke. I will continue to watch them and how they eat. Im sure it was all coincidence.

Make sure you are giving extra hydration. Meds can dehydrate them because they need to be metabolized by the liver and kidneys which takes water. Dehydration can cause tongue problems like you describe.
