Poop

hey just my 2 cents... I have a a panther with obviously much bigggggger poooooop:D but its similar its not always full white but im sure he gets enough water I see him drinking all the time I even have a fountain for him in the cage... dont worry too much as long as you always mist well and for prolonged periods and keep him moist

PS: Sorry for poop photos :D[/QUOTE]

don't be silly , we love poop on here :D ;) that pretty much looks like my chams poo too- but hers are bigger :p

The urate, ideally, should be more white. However, if a cham does not poop for an extended period of time, a yellow or orange urate is not necessarily an indication of dehydration. Most likely the coloration is a result of holding it too long.

If this color of poop is the norm, then it would indicate dehydration, and you would want to look at providing additional hydration options. Keep an eye on his poop and if you see a few more like this, especially if it hasn't been held for an extended amount of time, then action should be taken.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, poop is what it's all about around here :D
Wish I had $1 for every time 'poop' shows up on this forum

Anyway, the urates are not always going to be snow white.

Water soluble vitamins and pigments will stain it different colors, usually orange and red, from the paprika concentrate they use in some of the powdered supliments.
You need to take these things into consideration when examining cham poop :D

Yep, as others have said, it looks like a pretty good poop/urate specimen to me.

Looks just like my veileds and he pretty much poops daily or at least every other day. My panther holds his for several days and it usually has a much oranger tint to it. But I know he's getting plenty of hydration, he just holds it and some of the moisture is reabsorbed from it making it darker...

Your guys looks good to me! :p

LOL! Squee holds his to, for when I get home and let him out on the free range. First thing after he climbs up there, shoots a glance down at me, then poops!!!

Just something I've been wondering for a while: the white part of the poo is urine? So is their pee in solid form? Because I've never seen/ found actual liquid pee from my chameleon.

What color was the liquid pee? The urate should be solid but sometimes they have like a gel type liquid that will come out also. Sometimes is seperates from the poo and pee. Same goes for the pee that will break off from the poo so it looks like there is no pee! :p
