Possibility of raising crickets with no wings

I think I have found out a way to affect the temps and light cycle of a crickets enclosure to safely make them develop no wings... I am not sure yet, so I won't post the idea yet, don't want someone to try it and then fail and cause serious harm to their crop. Give me a month or two to mess with it ^^

Much love to you all, thought you would find it interesting ^^

However for anyone who gets excited about this, it will affect growth patterns, and likely make them grow much slower, and only certain feeder species of crickets are able to be raised this way. Just so this doesn't become some sort of weird false advertising thing.

lmao XD Idk if they are franken crickets... the silkworms are more like frankenmoster stuff.

So you found a way to make female only crickets? I always thought they hatched as male or female, just like dubia. Once they are adults the males start chirping ,and the females develop egg layer tubes.

No they don't grow wings right away, and if you grow them right from what I understand they won't put any effort into growing their wings since certain temps and photo periods can make growing a little bit more complicated for them but gives them technically everything they need.... kind of like female chameleons and slowing egg production in a way. And in fact the species I am talking about will often cast off their wings to make breeding easier. It's hard to explain XD but have been researching it for a couple days for several hours a day.

Banded crickets themselves are not winless and they do not have a naturally winless strain that I know of. It honestly is just how you keep them as far as temps and photoperiods. Which is why it would affect their growth patterns... I find it depressing they refer to it like it was something genetic that they have specifically and not something anyone can do with the right feeder species of crickets. Banded crickets are one of the species and there are a couple others that are in the smaller gryllus species area that I think you can affect similarly as well. Once again I have not tried it yet and won't have any specific hours or temps for a bit.

It will be an interesting experiment for sure, I hope to help the community further for those who hate the noise etc. At least we would hopefully be able to cut down on one thing ^^

Insects are so insanely amazing, people d ont get it half the time when I talk about how much I am amazed by their survival instincts that they don't even realize they have. I am getting some insect shirts for c hristmas ^^

It wouldn't be neoteny really... because they are completely adults.... And they just chose not to grow their wings due the circumstances in which they were raised?

At least I don't think it would be neoteny XD
