OK got a question.. I was into Orchids a bit a while back and I have this unit in storage.. debating selling it.. or perhaps can be converted to a really nice cage for a adult male veiled cham?? http://www.orchidarium.com/htm/azores.htm
I have a heck of a time with temps in the winter living in new Hampshire.. Also a ton of issues with plant die off.. So already looking at LED plant lights.. etc.. HO lights..

So thoughts??

couple of things.. yes glass, so ventilation.. it does Not, have a open top however it is plexi and can be changed.. the doors are not sealed.. IT has two fans.. etc for air flow.. so either change to a scree top, or figure out a way to keep the fans.. and add a ventilation kind of holes..

I may still see what I can get for this for someone who has orchids.. it was a pretty expensive unit, now they go for over $2000 but it is very nice to look at.. and frankly would make a darn nice looking Cham cage.. even if looks don't equal good for the animal still looks nice.. not saying I risk the animals health for looks.. but if there is a way to use it.. worth considering

To answer your question, very suitable for a veiled chameleon enclosure. Some might disagree because it is glass, but you can revamp it for optimal airflow, such as adding computer fan at the top or figuring out some sort of ventilation system of your own.
That being said, fluxlizard makes a good point. You could likely sell it and have someone completely customize a couple of arboreal acrylic or glass enclosures for you.
Cheers!

yeh tried no luck..

Oh I agree.. I DID not spend that much on it, When I purchased it for my orchids, I looked into a DYI kind of setup.. and when all was said and done, it was a bit more and LOOKED better.. now.. WOW.. been several years.. tried to sell it for like 1/2 what I spent.. on e=bay.. nope nothing..

As they are WAY MORE now may try again.. but as I am thinking of updating my lighting and looking at some kind of pricey light fixtures.. etc etc.. I have this, has light fixtures.. and the bits on hand to modify it.. debating..

its one of those.. hey I have this.. want to repurpose modify as I will not have to spend more on "new" kind of ideas.. anyone who has looked into lighting options esp for plants.. and walked into a plant or hydroponics store.. knows.. the prices are way different.. :) but the unit is purchased.. a long time ago... in storage not being used.. so considering repurpose options :)

Well, if you can't sell it half price then I agree with the other poster- I see no reason why it wouldn't work.
