Possible Dehydration?

I've had my chameleon for 3 days now and so far so good. His name is Kiddo and he is 11 weeks old.
Until today and couple times yesterday, I see his mouth is opened a little from time to time.

His urinate is neither yellow or orange.
I have a dripper that pretty much drips for 9 hours of the day.
I have an automated misting system.
Basking temperature ranges from 77f-82f.
Ambiance temperature ranges from 75f-80f.

So I'm not sure if Kiddo is dehydrated or not. If it's something else, please tell me how I can treat it and how severe it is.

keeping the mouth open is not a sign of dehydration. Temps being too hot or a possible respiratory infection could be the cause. How long is he holding his mouth open? Is he only opening his mouth when he is under the basking light, or just anywhere in the cage? what are cage temps?

Yah ditto my chameleon was doing this to under the basking light and I just got a lower watt bulb and is doing fine

yeah check your basking temps like the others said they do that to cool down.
And as long as you cant see anything physically wrong with his mouth it would be the temps try lowering them if he doesn't stop gaping.

He's doing it anywhere in the cage mostly away from the lights.

Currently the cage temperature is averaging between 78f-82f.

I was not there long enough to see how long his mouth stayed open, but once or twice I see it open for maybe a minute and once I get closer to look at him, he closes his mouth.

I think the temperature at the bottom of the cage is important. It should be in the low 70s or even high 60s.

He needs that temperature range. By moving from the 80s to the 70s he cools down. If the best he can do is a 7 degree change, he can't really cool down when he's feeling hot.

So Kiddo just needs a nice cool spot to cool down?

I'm on it! I'll just put more plants to give it some shade to create a cooler spot for Kiddo.

carol5208, if you could fill me in on possible respiratory infections and preventing it..that would be very helpful
