veileds can be kept with the same conditions as a panther, with a bit hotter of a bulb for basking, and prob the cheapest short of a wc or pygmy witch wouldnt be great starter chams anyway

Unfortunately yes, they would have to be in the same room. And also, he can't afford a panther. Oh well. I guess there arent any cheap chameleons. Another hamster is sounding probable.

If your friend wants a chameleon but dosent want the huge adult cage a male panther has to have go with a carpet chameleon thay are awesome and they can live in 18x18x36 cages there whole life and thay have really cool colors too.

he should get a Pygmy they cost around $30 and they really small you can put them in a smaller cage. there not the best looking chameleons though
