I too have a cactus! That’s beautiful. I’m hoping it will flower this year. I’ve seen some new growth since going into Napoleons enclosure so I’m hoping with the new light process I will get to see the flowers!! Also is my new Madagascar jasmine someone recommended on here, I’ve had it 2 mos and see some new growth. So exciting! Thanks for starting the thread, it will give others great ideas. 😊

Pitcher plant failure... Had to remove from enclosures. Noticed chameleons climbing on it keep pitchers from producing. Hoping it recovers in time.

Rose mallow Hibiscus that i been debating using in my viv. It has bloomed since spring and shows no signs of stopping. So much prettier then the red variety imo.

Not sure on elephant ears tbh. Honestly I have seem my veiled take bites out of so many different plants free roaming with no ill effects... The safe list is just a list of plants people have used :)

Ok! I kinda like the look of them and I think some breeds of elephant ears can hold the chameleons weight

I would research any plant if you have veiled. I also wouldn't let free range on plants you don't knw about if you have veiled. They are known plant eaters. If eats plant that's not good could show signs days later. Making it harder to knw what's wrong. Just letting cham on any plant you don't know if safe is good way to lose you cham which Noone would want.

I looked it up and it said that it will cause skin irritation so ima pass on that one!😅
pothos and many other of the cham safe plants are listed yo also cause skin irritation. Some are also poisonous to dogs and cats. So....🌝

Golden Pothos is considered to be only mildly harmful in small quantities, but can produce uncomfortable and sometimes serious side effects in animals and people. In humans, it can cause burning of the mouth, skin irritation, swelling of lips, tongue, and throat, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Better to be safe. Then to say hey this first time I've seen cham poisoned. That how I see it. Even if veiled are cheap they're still a living thing and caution should be taken on what you put in cage

Of course and im giving experience with veileds seen them eat so many different things outside. (Kinda hard to grow cham safe outside trees in new england) If you can find me a confirmed poisoning by plants i would be surprised... I have looked quickly and cant aeem to find any. Being safe is always great. I just dont think plant poisoning is a huge problem with chameleons in the grand scheme of things that go wrong.

Pothos has been veiled tested for ever. But remember veiled eat plants so you don't want to just through stuff in there.
Thats my point though. If you read the studies its a poisonous plant. Yet no effects.. Veiled tested plants are just plants keepers have used. Many are still poisonous or irritants to most animals and even humans.

I think it said it irritates the skin of chameleons not humans.

source? its a alocasia which have been in many vivs forever...

My first google search gave me this...

Elephant Ear (Alocasia polly)

Not only are these beautiful plants, but they are also ideal plants for a crested gecko who loves to climb. They have large leaves that can easily support a crestie.Jul 25, 2022

Its a crestie but still lol..
