Post Photos of your Chameleon Cages

Hey,
I really wanted to see some of your set ups, especially if you have incorporated glass and screen together, or built it your self.

We are tossing a few different styles of what to build.

I'm new

This is my custom cage that I built myself with friends! All aluminum it was pricy and stretching aluminum screen is not fun! two person job! swearing might be included! mine was!
The cage it self is 6ft tall with the four castors slightly over!(another 5inches) 32inches wide and 24inches deep!
Bought most materials from a local window supplier(they got the good stuff)screens, screen spline and screen rail.
Homedepot and Rona(Canadian hardware store)
L rails, hindges, floor (5/8 laminate on both sides), vinyl tiles 12"x12" and use silicone to seal the seams! I used a normal sink sewer pipe with very small holes for drainage! Cage is Alcatraz for crickets! But I did use 1/2 chicken screen on top for better lighting I heard!

Total--> stop adding after $150 Canadian dollars (does not include lights or light assemblies!!

You can see it here!

She's in it cause, I have no money for a chameleon!:D lol just joking!!

DIY SC4, large planter full of pothos, schefflera, fake vines along the walls, MistKing, 24" 5.0, 60W lightbulb, dripper, Gratch.

You would find a lot more posts if you used the search button rather than asking everyone to post pictures of theirs.

https://www.chameleonforums.com/search.php

I looked through over 20 pages of post. I am sure you are a great person and give alot of good advice but I notice a lot of complaining/negativity.
This is a forum, if I choose to post something that has been a repeat I am sorry but that is my freedom.
I tried to use the search and it is hard because no two people give their posts the same topic so how I may word it and how someone else may word it can give to different things.

My comment.
If you have nothing nice to say or positive to add, just dont say anything at all Please.

Haha, is she your pet too? Just kidding.

The cage is awesome, I wish I had space for something that large. We are building one but it will be 3 - 4 feet tall at most. My husband wants it to be a focal point lol it wants a pretty cage. I do not care as long as it is functioning

I agree! I like to read peoples questions and comments, I think what you did was fine.

That was what I found skimming through 2 pages of one search. I have no idea how you aren't finding anything, really.
I searched for custom setup.

For one, my words exactly were "You would find a lot more posts if you used the search button rather than asking everyone to post pictures of theirs."

In other words, you will probably get 10-20 responses here, but if you use the search function properly and try several ways to search, you could get hundreds of posts and lots of pictures.

Try searching for the words "setup", "cages", "Do it yourself", "custom".

I would love to help you think of more tags to search if you decide to use the search feature in the future.

For another, I'm not being negative, nor am I complaining. I have no idea where you are getting that from. Posts like this are going to make people who can really help you decide to ignore you in the future to avoid your complaining. Several times I have offered you advice but unless you hear what you want to hear, you won't have any of it and go off on a tangent about how if we don't have anything nice (or in this case what you want to hear) to say then we shouldn't say anything at all.

There are hundreds of active members on this forum. You are going to hear various opinions, various levels of advice -- and that's not always going to be what you want to hear.
I'm just trying to help you utilize this site's features the best you can, and this is the reply I get? How unfortunate.

I am not trying to be rude it just seems redundant when I come across multiple threads where you are telling us instead of reposting try and utilize the search button first.
I guess I was just hoping everyone would post new pictures in stead of going from thread to thread to see different ones... ya know? I wanted to get it all in one place. but that was a failed attempt.

but as for utilizing advice I have, from many people. I changed my temp, my basking light is gone, my substrate is gone. I just want multiple peoples advice.

So what you're implying is that you shouldn't use the search button first? Instead you should clutter the forum with threads that have been made several times over?

What is redundant is all of the threads you are making.

EDIT: Requoting you after you changed your original message:

So, are you also implying that you can't get multiple peoples' advice from reading other threads created by.. well, other people?

I agree with the OP though. It's a forum, people can post whatever threads they want, whether they have been posted already or not. I'm sure everyone on here (myself included) has reposted threads just like others. Not everyone joined at the same exact time and not everyone feels like sitting here and searching through each and every thread. I've noticed you do that too (to myself) and it does tend to come off rather, well, rudely.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with make a "repeat thread". In fact, I like when people do make repeats because a lot of times you'll get responses from people who didn't respond at first, who just joined the forum or, like myself and Sean, who are currently redoing our cages and upgrading our two males into bigger cages.

With all that being said, these are the cages our chams are currently in. They are 18x18x36 with a custom built stand, built by Sean and I :)

Here are the 2 new cages we purchased for them, though we have to return one because the wrong color was sent. As you can see, we haven't moved them yet. But the stand is also custom built, by Sean and I. In the middle is our cute little Fire-Bellied newt named Rocky.

If you have a question then you have a question and you should be free to post it! If members don't want to read it they too have the same choice to ignore it. Some of the more senior members can intimidate us quieter members, making me at least think twice before commenting. But over all I am grateful and amused by the variety of people on here, hey Syn I did enjoy your post about a certain avatar LOL.:)

I think man like me and your husband like to over engineer everything! My Wife is more of a financial advisor! Lol she hates engineering!!
Got the cage but don't have a Cham! forget to put it in the financial budget !!lol

I thought I'd post Shooter and Sinatra's new set ups! They're now in their 2x2x4 enclosures and are LOVING it! Sinatra, who's the biggest one we have, looks like a little peanut in this cage. Spoiled brats I tell you, but we love them to death.
