Pothos plant help

So I just got a new pothos for my chameleons cage and I'm attempting to repot it into some organic soil. But i'm having problems because the plants root ball is so tight and tangled that I can't get the soil out. Any ideas on how to remove the soil so that I can switch it to some organic compost soil?

I wouldn't worry too much about getting every bit of soil out. Since your going to cover the ball with organic soil anyways, your chameleon will not come in contact with it.

Soak it in a tub of warm water for a while and it should loosen up.
