Potting soil

i have a hard time taking care of plants and want to make sure i do it right this time around. I just bought a China Doll plant from home depot and was looking for soil recommendations. I know any organic soil is best but if you have a specific brand that works best please let me know !

Also any tips on caring for a china doll are appreciated! I’ve never owned one but i’m excited to give it to my lil guy!!

Fox Farms Ocean Forrest is really good. Make sure to cover the soil with rocks too big for your veiled to eat before placing the plant in his cage. I know @JoXie411 has a nice China Doll, she might have some tips!

These two soil are my fave, I do a half and half of both for all my plants. For fertilizer I usually collect silkworm or hornworm poop, honestly any insect poop I can get my hands on

My chain doll got a white fly infestation so it’s in recovery with no leaves

sounds like my ficus tree currently bringing it back to life lol

The first place I'd look are articles on caring for a particular plant, including all its individual needs—light, soil (&pH), water (& drainage), fertilizer/food, etc.

Then I would crosscheck against other plants (and their needs) in the enclosure. Some combinations work very well, and some don't.

I use a turkey baster to remove my Axolotls's poop and put in my flowers. Works great! Water plus in one. Hubby thought I was crazy until my dying plants look amazing now.

I second this brand. Also -- if no "fresh" poop is around grab some earth worm castings from the store. Stuff works great.
