Power out. Heat issue

Day 2 no power. We have a generator that runs a pellet stove in basement and my veiled’s heat lamps. But they go off at night. Bottom of cage is 58. Top got up to 88 today. Keeping cage covered I’m worried. We may be like this for several days. How much harm would it be to keep lights on? I know they need darkness to sleep

If you turn your generator off at night and it gets to cold I would take out everything at the bottom and fill bottles up with hot water and wrap them in a towel so it don’t get to hot to the touch and holds the warmth longer if you have no power..maybe thro a sheet or something over the cage also to hold more warmth. Good luck hope everything turns out ok

As long as the temps not under 50 you'll be fine. Leave lights off. If it's long-term I like to go by the rule of 55. My chams regularly see temps drop around 60 to even high 50s during the winter.

I would say fill a sock with rice and heat it up it works as a heat pack
