Praying mantis as a feeder

How would one keep/breed a mantis in captivity?

Put it in a box.
Don't let it out.

It's pretty easy, especially if you already have feeders coming in regularly. Funny story - I actually bought my chameleon under the reasoning that my mantids weren't eating their 12 crickets fast enough in a 2 week period and I wanted another pet to feed crickets to!

Needless to say, pretty soon I was ordering 1000 crickets every month and a half instead of a dozen every two or three weeks.

Mantids are super easy. Super fun to watch. They need a bit of ventalation like chams or they get fungal infections. They need 70-80 degree heat like chameleons. They need once a day misting. They need a feeder that'll put up a fight so you can charge admission..

.. and they need to be photographed!

The giant asians are the funnest to watch. I had one that took bumblebees and wasps out of the air.

The ghosts are the most beautiful insect on the planet (IMHO).

If anyone on here is selling any mantids btw, I'm interested in possibly buying if it's the right species.

I'm currently out, but I've got a huge australian stick bug!
