One egg case will yield approximately 50 to 200 Mantis.

These are egg case. Have not hatched yet. I do paypal, check, or money order. Shipping is priority mail flat rate of 4.95. Have to ship this way, due to fact they might hatch in time regular mail might take to arrive. Keep in frige till you want to hatch.

Hi Steve,

Are you selling the oothica? Not sure if I spelled it right.

Yes, egg cases.

are these good feeding for chameleons?? i know when they first come out of the egg they r practically invisible.. i use these for my garden.

What do you feed the mantis though?

I start them off on Fruit Flies, and one week or under Crickets. Then progress to House Flies as they grow. But besides the ones I release in the garden, which you might be able to collect at a later date, most get ate (by baby chams) in first hours of hatching.
They will eat each other too, if no food or enough cage space is given.

HA HA HA Holy $h*t! they already hatched all i did was put a damp paper towel in the cage and had a vine so they could crawl out of the container and i see about 30 already! BTW do they need uvb or no?

no.
wait a bit more before you throw the ooth.
sometimes there are some that born a bit late.
Release some in the garden. the rest either feed to your young cham or separate all of them in a small deli cup (or make sure they have plenty food available) or they will start eating each other.

that's insane. i've never actually seen a mantis but i'd imagine they take up alot more room than a cricket. so 50- 200 hatching? madness :p

mantis pretty much eat everything they can eat.
I gather they will eat some gnats and baby spiders as well provided that the spider cannot fight back.

so i have a bunch o lil runts running around, do i keep them all in the 16x16x30 screen cage for a little and feed them fruit flies. wait for them to grow a little then release them or what?

those little mantises are already equipped with 2 serrated blades and an instinct to hunt. Keep some that you like and release the others in your backyard.
They'll help you kill some unwanted pests there.
The rest, you can keep them in the screen cage (or an aquarium with screen top). Don't forget to lightly mist the cage twice a day. Many fatalities happened during the molting phase.

If you decide to keep all of them in one cage, you better be sure there are plenty food available for them. They have a voracious appetite.
They will start eating each other soon..
