Pregnant Panther Can't Find Dirt?

Hey guys! Another question for ya,
If you have followed my old posts, you will know my female is pregos. She has been finally zipping up and down her cage and all over the ground looking for a place to lay. She has a large tub at the base of her tree inside her cage with a branch leading into the 8-9 inches of dirt, but so far she has constantly skipped it and traveled straight to the floor. She also likes to travel up and down the screen walls a lot. I have yet to actually see her in the tub at any point thus far, and am afraid she will somehow refuse to dig in the tub. What can I do so she will lay her eggs?
The tub is about a foot tall and is on the left side of the cage. Her tree is against the tub, but leans t o the rightas it goes higher. There is lots of branches that loom over the tub, and a large branch dug into the dirt that is fixed nicely against the base of the tree. I know she's seen the tub, but shes all over the ground. My friend asked if they could smell me messing with the dirt recently to add a bit more and making it more firm? Any solutions?

Are you constantly watching her? Maybe she'll require a much deeper and wider laying bin.

I had that problem and what I did was put the sand in a 5 gallon bucket, put her in it and covered it and it only took a couple of minutes and she was going to town digging!!

I expect that its big enough since it is about a third of her 2'x2'x4' cage. Plus I don't think it could be much bigger . I might try just placing her in the tub to see if she gets goin, but I havent worked with her much so she might start haulin away from me. An idea my friend came up with is to clip towels around her cage at the height of the bucket so when she travels to the bottom, she meets the towels as the "base". Then she will cruise around and find the bucket of dirt lower than the "base". Watch'ya think?

Actually I put the 5 gal. bucket outside the cage. She wouldnt go in the one in the cage. This went on for a couple days and I had to put her in it with a lid so she couldnt get out, of course with holes in the lid. And I mean within minutes she was digging like crazy, like thanks its about time!!!

oh. Alright then, I'll see about that if shes getting restless and wont get in the tub.

When she does start digging give her privacy. Don't watch her because if she sees you watching her dig she may leave her hole and become eggbound and possibly die. If she doesn't lay soon I'd get her to a vet before she comes eggbound.

If I were you I would do it today. Get a big trashcan filled a foot deep. Needs a lid, but some light is probably useful.......and a 'do not disturb' sign, of course.......

That's up to her. Put a branch to climb when she's done, and keep having sly little check ups on her, every few hours is more than enough....
