i am getting my first male panther cham at the end of next week. when he gets here he will be about 15 weeks. i have a few questions about feeding him right off. should i get some crickets before he gets here so that i can gut load them so that they will be ready to eat?
also about how many should i offer him at that point? also when he gets here should i open the container and mist him? or get him in the enclosure and then mist him?

any other first time cham owner first few days advice?
i am just trying to lessen the stress for both of us if i can.
thanks for any advice or suggestions you have.

Congrats on the first chameleon!
I would get some crickets before hand so they are fat and juicy.
You may want to consider roaches too.
This will help to keep cricket strikes from happening.
I would put him right into the cage and give a heavy misting.
Maybe even a shower, depends if he looks dehydrated.
Who are you getting him from? Is he being shipped or picked up?
Let him eat as much as he wants at a young age, 15-20 crickets isnt odd.

Just something from my first experience when I brought home my chameleon . . . it took him a couple days to actually start eating. He ate a few crickets, but once he became adjusted to his new surroundings, his appetite adjusted accordingly.

Now he eats like a little pig :)

So, it may take a couple days for your Cham as well.
