Problems with shedding eyes

Hey everyone.
I've had a panther for about five months now, and every time he has shed, he's gotten all of the skin on his body off easily, but he always has trouble getting it off of his eye. He shed on friday and has had everything else off for days but still has some on both of his eyes. Whats the best way to go about helping him get this off? I don't really want to mess with anything without getting advice since it's such a sensitive part of him. Thanks!

I'd up the misting. You might go get a bottle of saline solution (the kind used by people with contact lenses) and try squirting that on the eye.

My method........

I put a little Neosporin on a Q-tip and carefully moisten the eye turret area with it. Don't rub a lot. Be gentle. After a day or two you can repeat this process and the skin should slip off the eye turret. Don't get the Neosporin in the eye.....

I dont know, i wouldnt do anything and just let it flake off on its own. Its not causing it any pain is it? Have you thought about trying that Zoo Med Shedding Aid?

I would up the misting a lot and let nature take care of it. The chameleon will rub it off most likely. Just make sure you keep it misted so it will rub off easily.

i ended up using the neosporin idea, and it worked great. got all the excess skin off no problem. just a question- has anyone had any experience with the zoo med shed aid? i know it says its safe for eyes but i'd still be hesitant

I've used it a couple of times in the past and it didn't appear to harm the eyes. I put the bottle in some warm water to warm it up and put the cham on a towel and sprayed closely to the body with my hand sheilding the head area. I did not just spray him all over from a distance.

I'd stay with showers.....

I would just stick with showers.....Chams don't have shed aids in nature. The eyes should normally shed completely. I use the Neosporin for occassional issues. If the eyes are an issue at every shed there may be an ongoing underlying issue.
