I have some desent news to report on my blue bar panther Doku's attitude problem.

When I first got him about 1 month ago he would spit fire and get extremely upset if I came remotely close to him. This would also include actully trying to bite me. So over the last week or so everyday I would hold my hand inside his cage during cleanings just close enough NOT to provoke him. Each day I would move a lil closer but still out of range...NOT to provoke him.

So friday I enter his domain with a tastey lil cricket in hand and.....

Of course I missed the shot....

...im sure he doesnt realize how happy he made me...but I was grinning from ear to ear.

I should seriously change my forum title to Gregdachamtamer !

Great to hear! I think I'm going to try this myself. I can't get over the fact that if I need to remove him in an emergency it would be exceedly difficult. Best to keep him civil (but not necessarily friendly!) with you.

thats good news.
We also noticed a big change in our chams attitude over time. I actually began hand feeding him quite alot.
When ever I came near the tank, he would actualyl rub his nose in the corner where the zips meet, he wanted me to open the cage for him to get out, perch on my hand and eat, it was truly amazing.

I somewhat agree with that..but if the cham gets stressed everytime you enter his cage..something needs to change.

yes and my answar to that is curtains on the outside the front of the terrerium/terreriums.....
If someone have them in their livingroom they couldt use the curtains if there is alot of people in the room (or other animals like cats & dogs) and only enjoy the animals when there is no stress factor....;)
or keep the animals in a room that are not the center of the house/apartment
