Prolapse?!!!

hello, I need help I'm panicking! My 5 month old Panther i think just had prolapse? A big red thing came out of his back end, but it only lasted for like 10 seconds and then it went back in!

Was it a prolapse?
What could of caused it?

Did this happen after he pooped? My panther used to prolapse when he pooped but it would always go back in, now he's older and doesn't prolapse

There was fresh poo in there but it wasn't straight after. I am so worried! He's still acting like himself and eating fine

I'd say as long as it goes back in fine there may not be a problem. However if the prolapse stays out of the body, you would want to put a damp cloth on it to keep it moist and take your Cham to the vet

It was probably a hemipenes not a prolapse

It's not really a prolapse if it goes back in. A prolapse needs help going back in most of the time and is usually a vet emergency. Hemipenes are often pushed out of their vents to help clean them after stooling especially if you have a sexually mature male who is producing sperm plugs.
