:p I didn't know pants needed specific lighting! Jeans or khakis? Sorry, couldn't resist.

go to home depot, you can buy individual bulbs the liknk is for a 10pack but that is the 6500K light from phillips. When looking at the temps get the one thats called daylight. You dont want cool white or nuetral you want daylight. This puts out the nice blue light of 6500k. If you want your plants to be really healthy i would also supplement with a 2700K bulb that puts out more of a reddish light. Hope this helps

edit: its best to try and grow a hanging plant from the top since the light is only strong till about 6 inches away then its almost like your in the shade

I appreciate all the info guys... I had bought one yesterday from home depot but it din't say it was 6500k... it was blue and also it was a 60 watt plant day bulb

Sunlite Compact Fluorescent 20W Mini Twist Daylight 6500K Light Bulb
$5 online

20 watt - Sunshine Lighting - Spiral
20W Spiral Daylight 6500k Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb with integral 120V ballast - medium screw base. Will this do?? my only question is that its not BLUE..... does that matter

6500k is indeed too blue, ReptileUV says that this light appears very gray to chameleons and that it does not provide a natural light spectrum. This may cause them to not eat as much, since their food looks off in color. A 5000k light is the best, according to them, because it is warmer light but still very bright and great for plants. I use 4' fluorescent 5000k bulbs for my cages and have both happy animals and plants.

I typically buy the Phillips ones from Lowe's or Home Depot.

What wattage is the light that u have for ur chams. I have a 4ft high x 2ft wide screen cage and its currantley with a powersun (100w). inside temp ranges from 82- 85degrees

my pants dont require much light, theyre usually in the drawers. no more than normal pants are exposed to on a regular basis. they seem to do fine, if you expose them to too much sunlight they can fade.
