As a “bacteria wrangler” I thought it would be interesting to plate my chameleons poo to see what kind of bacteria he had in his gut. Well my suspicions were correct! He has a healthy gut full of Salmonella

I wash my hands after touching reptiles or their supplies, even before sometimes. That said, unless you have a compromised immune system, what are the chances of actually getting sick? My guess is very low.
