pump pressure reduction

How do i turn down the pressure on my pump. Mine is a Herpmist, but if both Marty, Jason and anyone else could give the answer for all pumps maybe it will help more people.

i have been going thru my entire reservoir daily with 3 misting heads

PS Lake Erie seems to be a little lower since i been using my misting system LOL

Howdy,

On the Herpmist, ProMist, and MistKing pumps, there is a tiny hex set-screw on the front of the pump. Turn it 2-3 turns out (CCW) and that should take the pressure down to around 40psi. Don't turn it in (CW) because an increase in pressure could be bad for the pump. That appears to be about the minimum setting available for these pumps.

Dave, what sort of pressure guage should I be using to measure the output pressure from a pump like that?

It's a 1/16" hex, IIRC. I'm going to add those and some drill bits to the catalog soon.

if you don't have one you can always get one at home depot and take it back

you can also find quick connect pressure gauges online but there is no need, because the amount of turns you are making is so small, you should remember the starting position should you not be able to get it right in a few
