Putting probes into screen cages?

Hi guys, and Merry Christmas everyone! Monty has a Reptibreeze screen cage to move into soon and I have no idea how to get the probe for his thermo-hygrometer into the new viv! He is currently in an Exo Terra and the top lifts off and has space at the back of the screen top to allow wires through, but the screen cage is put together with no gaps! How do I go about getting the probe (which is a small black box) inside his cage? I am thinking I may have to keep the whole thing in there and somehow cover the display with something to stop it getting waterlogged!

i just find where I want it to go through and snip at few pieces of screen, not much as just want it big enough from probe to fit through. Any cage I ever took my probe out I just threaded fishing line to close the tiny hole back up.

 That's not good! I will have to have a fiddle and see if I can squeeze the wire through the gap where the door closes, it might just work! Once Christmas is out of the way and work calms down a bit I will get time! Think I will see if B&Q sell corrugated plastic, and the tray idea is brilliant too! Don't suppose you have any pics of said tray?

hope you can see what I mean :)

Thanks! Presumably you have to take the tray out to empty it? I had though of doing that and putting in an adjustable airline valve to empty it. I have some left over from making drippers.

Tiff i put mine inside ziplock sandwich bags. But my probe extends out of the box. If the entire thing is a box and to put it in a baggie it won't do any good to read temp or humidity in the cage. Could you locate it such that something solid sits above it? Like the gage is sitting under a shelf? That is the best I can come up with.

What time did you finally get to bed last night?
