Hello everyone,

Our beautiful girl Maple laid 3 eggs today - we have them in the incubator etc... but are having a hard time finding any help out there - we're not sure how long they should be incubated... if they should be turned etc? Any help would be so appreciated!!

don't turn em....mid seventies incubating temps....round 60-80 days incubation time...keep humidity high, around 80-90%

Incubation temps should be no lower than 64F or higher than 77F. Staying more in the 75 degree range had a much quicker incubation time (40-50 days) than staying at lower temps like 65 (90+ days). From Necas' book. Do not turn them as the yolk can actually crush the embryo.

I used a little tupperware with moist vermiculite and it worked great! Wet the vermiculite so that if you pick up a chunk and squeeze it only a drop or two of water comes out. Keep the container airtight so the water doesn't evaporate. This is what more experienced people told me about their incubation techniques and it worked well for me. I punched a hole in the top just big enough for a thermometer/hygrometer probe to fit so I could monitor the inside without having to open it.

Thanks for the replies... it's really hard to get some good info on these little eggs... She laid a total of 3 - buried them in her enclosure and stayed right near them - we now have them in some perilite and are keeping a close eye on them - one last question - should I wet down the perilite?

Thanks again!
